Eildon Unheard endorses Tom Ward as independent candidate for Eildon

Community organisation Eildon Unheard has chosen Tom Ward as its endorsed independent candidate for the Victorian state seat of Eildon at the 28 November 2026 election.

Ward, from Yarck, is a member of the Alexandra Community Hub and recently lost his home in the January fires. He was chosen following a community-led selection process run by Eildon Unheard in recent months.

“This electorate has been taken for granted for too long. I’m standing as an independent because Eildon deserves a representative who answers to this community, not a party room — and because I believe real change here is still possible if we’re willing to rise above the cynicism and special interests that dominate our politics.”

Ward will formally launch his campaign on Saturday 26 September. Details to be announced.
